You want to feel okay with your child and this life.
You want to feel calmer, steadier, and capable of handling your child’s challenges.
But parenting a highly reactive, sensitive, or high-needs child can leave you feeling constantly activated, exhausted, and stuck in survival mode.
I GET IT — I’VE LIVED IT TOO.
I’m Afshan Tafler, a Nervous System Resilience Coach, podcast host of The Regulated Parent, and a parent raising a PDA Autistic child (now teen) with high anxiety and OCD. For years, daily meltdowns, fear, and unpredictability shaped every part of our lives — and pushed my nervous system into burnout.
Through trauma-informed nervous system regulation work, everything began to change — not because the challenges changed, but because my capacity to handle them did.
Today, I’ve guided hundreds of parents from barely coping to feeling steadier, more connected, and more alive — even if the external challenges don’t change.Â
This work isn’t about fixing your child.
It’s about helping you move from survival to resilience — in real life, as it actually is.

The Regulated Parent Podcast
The Regulated Parent Podcast is a weekly conversation about what it really takes to parent a highly reactive, sensitive, or high-needs child without losing yourself.
We talk about what most people don’t — how parenting like this actually feels, how your nervous system responds under chronic stress, and how to find your way back to steadiness, courage, and connection.
All to help you move from surviving and barely coping to feeling steadier, more capable, and more okay in your body and mind — even when challenges are still present.
