7 Steps To Transforming Anger - The Conscious Way

“Afshan is incredibly helpful! This course is life-changing!

I struggled with being reactive towards my child. Taking this course has been incredibly eye opening! The scientific information provided explaining what happens to our nervous systems, how our nervous systems communicate with others and the tools to help our nervous systems get back online is invaluable. Afshan is incredibly helpful! This course is life-changing! I feel like the information Afshan is teaching should be taught in schools. I think everyone should take the course regardless if they are struggling with anger or not. It is such useful and important information for anyone! Afshan is a fantastic instructor. She is kind, compassionate, open, gentle and knowledgeable.”

“I realized the impact my inner critic was having on my anger reactions.

I signed on to this course because I was struggling with reactions in lock down and because it spoke to my existing practice as a conscious parenting coach. This course has helped me to realize the impact of my own inner critic in a deeper way and to bring to light some beliefs I didn’t realize I was having about my child. Afshan is non-judgmental and has a beautiful calm energy. Also, I love the meditations!”

“I have techniques to calm myself in the moment and to be compassionate and patient with myself on this journey.

I was struggling with outbursts of anger, especially verbal but at times also being physically rough with my kids. I really dislike this behavior in myself and have been struggling with it for many years. I've tried counseling and different kinds of coaching. The efforts are slowly adding up and I'm starting to be able to see my struggles as a gift because they sent me on a journey of exploration I wouldn't have undertaken otherwise.

Taking this course has helped me to develop a better understanding of my different parts, my nervous system and the kinds of things that tend to affect it, techniques to calm myself in the moment, how to be compassionate and patient with myself on this journey, how healing it is to reach out and share my struggle instead of hiding in shame – and that change is a process that takes time, but is worth it.

Afshan is very supportive, calm and understanding but also pushing you to go deeper and not settle for easy or simplistic answers. She is able to get what people say without giving simplistic advice, but also speaking into personal / concrete situations. Afshan knows what she's talking about because she's been there – and thus she knows how to create a safe space without judgement / shaming, but also helping people to really make headway in putting an end to destructive behavior toward their children.

“I can better regulate and respond consciously instead of just reacting.

Before I took Afshan's course, I had difficulty dealing with my anger, including the shame, guilt and disparity of it. Daily frustrations and constant impulsive reactions on both my part and that of my children were the norm in our house. Through taking this course, I have learned tools to embark on the deeper dives into my patterned behaviors/thoughts so that I can separate them from who I truly want to be and the family dynamic I'm aiming for (full of love, compassion, connection and understanding).

Since taking the course I've become aware of my autonomic nervous system and its’ patterns, and that of my child's. As a result, I can better regulate and respond consciously instead of just reacting. This means, anger is expressed in a healthy way, and as such, there is less anger to express!!! It's has been an upward spiral of sustainable transformation, which continues to build.

Afshan is extremely knowledgeable, kind and compassionate - she has first-hand experience and gently supports us in this transformation with anger. I highly recommend her and this course - it's has tremendously benefited our family.

“I have so many tools!! It’s just amazing!!

Before this course, I was dealing with my anger with my son. I’ve learned a lot of why our own issues as parents get triggered by our kids. That behavior is communication. And in my thinking mind, and in my heart I knew and believed it. But why did I still get angry when he did certain things? I wanted to find out what exactly are the tools to “do the work” to improve me and my baggage to show up as the parent I wanted to be and that my son deserves. Now, after taking this course, I have so many tools!! It’s just amazing!! I feel more confident that with work, in time I can begin to heal and have a better relationship with my anger. This course gives you so much self-understanding and helps you develop self-awareness. Also, learning about the importance of self-compassion and that being a better parent is OUR responsibility and it takes hard work. But Afshan give us the tools!!”

“I don’t have to act out from the angry part of me, and I can understand and bring acceptance to myself

I was struggling with anger in my dealings with my two sons, which I am deeply ashamed of at times because I am training to be a counsellor. I’ve struggled with lack of space and time for myself which confinement and extended online schooling have contributed towards. The course so far made me aware of the different parts in me and how they initially served to protect me but now they need understanding/acceptance and I don’t have to act out from that part. Meditations were also good.

This course has very useful content that I had not come across before which was explained in a straight-forward way. Afshan has a warm and sensitive presence.”

“I’m becoming aware of my brain states and have deeper self-awareness.

I’m enjoying the course. I originally signed up to learn more about the aggressive behavior of my grandkids. I’m becoming aware of my brain states and have deeper self-awareness. The way the course is set up with work sheets and meditation allows for self-awareness and growth. Thanks for doing this work and getting it to parents. On the last call where you talked about being with the child’s emotion without an agenda was a reminder for me.”

“This course has helped me accept and be aware of my triggers and anger. I have told friends about this course!

I was being triggered by the aggression of my boys (4 and 6), yelling, being mean and reacting in ways I feel I should know better (being committed to positive parenting), and I was concerned that my behavior, reactions and yelling was negatively affecting my children. This course has helped me accept and be aware of my triggers and anger. I had never thought of accepting my anger parts of me, and I loved learning about the 8C’s - they’re definitely what I aspire to be. I have told friends about this course! I pitch it as learning about and understanding their anger and triggers. It turns out a lot of parents are surprised that they’re so triggered by their kids and recognize the need to heal childhood wounds to be a better parent to their children. Afshan is an extremely knowledgeable, emphatic and supportive teacher.”

“I am learning new ways to deal with the anger and techniques that are useful. It has been great to not feel like I am a really 'bad' person for getting angry and hearing about how other people struggle has helped me feel not so alone.

I was losing my sh*t with the kids and hubby on a daily basis and walking around feeling like every little thing was annoying me! This course has really educated me about why anger comes up and has helped me to see that it is not my fault and that it is there to protect me. I also have a brand new appreciation for the 'parts' of myself - something I had never thought about before. I also am learning new ways to deal with the anger and techniques that are useful. It has also been great to not feel like I am a really 'bad' person for getting angry and hearing about how other people struggle has helped me feel not so alone.

You will learn lots of information and the meditations are so helpful in figuring which parts of us are activated and where these thoughts are coming from.

Afshan is very knowledgeable about anger and lots of different parts of our reactions. She is really friendly and listens well on the calls and is able to ask the right questions to get you thinking and give her very insightful perspective on something that is happening with us or our children. Also, Afshan will answer any question and always get back to you.
