⭐ In our most recent cohort: 94.7% would recommend it to a friend parenting a high-needs child, and 100% became kinder and more compassionate toward themselves.

Afshan has guided hundreds of parents to regulate their nervous systems while parenting in the most triggering environments — with simple tools, live coaching, and real community support.

You can move from survival mode to calm, connected motherhood… but how?

Daily meltdowns. Hyper-sensitivity. Constant exhaustion.

You’ve probably asked yourself:

  •  “Will I always be this triggered?”
  • “I know better, but I can’t do better.”
  •  “Will it ever get any easier?”
“Can I really feel ok with my child and this life?”

The answer is: Yes.
But it won’t come from pushing yourself through it, being hard on or shaming yourself, or waiting for your child to change.

It starts with your nervous system.

Afshan Has Been Featured In:

Hi, I’m Afshan.

I know what it’s like to live through extreme challenges.

My son is PDA autistic with high anxiety and OCD. He doesn’t go to school. For years, he went through intense meltdowns and rages, controlling even our basic needs. He couldn’t meet his own basic needs at times, which triggered intense fear in me.

I burned out. I questioned if I could keep going. I even reached a point where I didn’t want to be on this earth.

But I found my way through.

I poured myself into learning everything I could about the nervous system and trauma healing. I trained in Somatic Experiencing, Internal Family Systems, Havening Techniques, and many other approaches — not just to collect credentials, but because I desperately needed to figure out how to heal myself so I could handle this life and be the safe mother my child needed.

Through these trauma-informed, nervous system regulation tools, I learned how to come back to my body, build capacity, and heal my survival responses. I came out of burnout.

Today, my son still has challenges. He still doesn’t want to learn. He still goes in and out of burnout and wants me to participate in his OCD rituals. But I am different.

I feel okay with my child and this life. I stay regulated when he’s activated. I experience joy and laughter daily. My nervous system is flexible now.

The difference is that I can see it differently — and most importantly, feel it differently in my body. I can allow what is, now, in the present, and still hold onto hope for the future. I don’t equate his success with my success anymore. I do the best I can for him and surrender and let go of the rest.

That’s what regulation looks like: flexible, capable, trusting myself, showing up with love and compassion, and living from who I want to be.

I can see my son differently — not as a threat but as my greatest teacher and my greatest gift. Gratitude has replaced fear.

This is the journey I want to guide you through.

What Other Parents Say about Afshan

“I joined Afshan’s course during a period of extreme turmoil… During the course, my son entered full burnout — extremely aggressive, unable to leave the house. And to my surprise, I was able to meet this new reality with compassion, curiosity, and gentleness. When my body started experiencing activation, I was able to use the tools to bring even a bit of calm. Afshan’s course saved my life — and for the first time in my life, I feel safe in my body.” — Mari
"A gift for my coparent and I right when we needed it — this course walked us through understanding our own and our highly sensitive child’s nervous systems with science, compassion, light-heartedness, and community. I went from feeling bewildered and burnt out to competent and curious. This should be part of a user’s manual for being human. Afshan is a gem.” — Lindsey
“Afshan does a fantastic job of explaining the anatomy of the nervous system and bringing you into a relationship with your own that is empowering. Her personal parental experience and that as a coach gives both strength and confidence.” — Melanie

3 Reasons You’ll Actually Learn to Regulate (this time)

#1

Step-by-step live supportive guidance

I’ll guide you live each week, answer your “what ifs,” and walk you through every practice.

#2

Designed for real life with your child

These tools are short, practical, and can be used in the middle of daily chaos — not just in quiet meditation time.

#3

Community and support

You’ll be surrounded by parents who get it, plus support from me in the Kajabi community between sessions.

WITH GUIDANCE
EVERY STEP

Live weekly teaching and coaching + daily practice short videos + on-demand tool library + support between classes

So you’re never guessing, never starting from scratch, and never doing it alone.

Whether You…

Have very little time or energy

You’ll learn micro-practices that can be done in minutes, right in the middle of daily life.

Are with your child all day (they don’t go to school)

You’ll discover ways to use these tools alongside your child, even when you have no space for yourself.

Have a very sensitive nervous system or past trauma

Everything is taught in safe, gentle, trauma-informed ways, so you’ll never be pushed faster than feels right. You’ll also learn how to keep the past from taking over the present.

Have no partner or support

You’ll be held in community with other moms, and you’ll have me personally supporting you in our group space between sessions. You won’t be doing this alone.

Have tried “everything” before

So did I. That’s exactly why I created this path — because I know what actually works when you’re living in the daily chaos.

Are neurodivergent yourself

These practices are body-first and can be adapted to your unique wiring. Many neurodivergent moms find them especially supportive.

Struggle with consistency

That’s okay. This isn’t about perfection — it’s about persistence. Even small steps matter, and with time your system will feel safer, making consistency come more naturally.

Have a toddler, tween, teen or adult child

These tools meet you where you are. They help you stay calmer and more grounded no matter your child’s age or stage.

Is This Right for You?

This IS for you if:

✅ You’re parenting a high-needs child (Autistic, PDA, ADHD, OCD, ODD, or highly sensitive), and you feel triggered, reactive, or burnt out.

✅ You’ve tried the strategies, but your body still isn’t on board — or you carry your own trauma, neurodivergence or highly sensitive nervous system.

This is not for you if:

❌ You’re looking for strategies to “fix” or control your child — this is about your nervous system first.

❌ You want a quick hack for heated moments instead of lasting change. Quick tricks might help you cope in a hard moment, but they don’t change how you truly feel about your child and this life. This work goes deeper — to the survival patterns underneath, in both body and mind (body first) — so the shift actually sticks.

❌ You’re not willing to give yourself even a few minutes of micro-practice on most days.

What’s Inside: Your 18-Week Journey

Each week, you’ll have:

✅ a pre-recorded Core Teachings class (30 min–1 hour) with simple teachings to help you understand your nervous system and why you react the way you do

✅ a 90-minute live class with guided practice using nervous system regulation tools so you can experience regulation in real time + Q&A and spot coaching for your specific challenges

✅ Two 5-minute videos per day to implement the weekly practices

✅ Handouts + a printable course Workbook compiling all content from the pre-recorded and live classes, to take the learning deeper

✅ 1-page Daily Practice sheets to help you implement daily

✅ Infographics of ongoing practices to help you embody the learnings

✅ All sessions recorded and uploaded to your private course platform so you can revisit them anytime

You’ll also receive a searchable video library of tools, organized by what you’re feeling (“use this when you’re anxious,” “use this when you’re overwhelmed,” “use this when critical thoughts take over”), so you can find the right support in the moment.

Week 0 — Orientation Week

Get Grounded Before We Begin

A gentle week to land and prepare, so Week 1 supports you instead of overwhelming you.

✅ Watch the Foundations videos — the mindset we'll return to all course long: how healing works, pacing yourself gently, self-compassion.

✅ Watch Understanding & Tracking Regulation — why you react, what regulation really means, plus an optional baseline snapshot.

✅ Join your Welcome Call — get oriented to the platform and connect to why you're here.

✅ Join your first Connection Call — the first of 4, to meet the other parents.

You'll walk in already feeling: "I'm in the right place, I belong here, and I can do this at my own pace."

Phase 1 · Weeks 1–3

Safety & Awareness

First, we build the foundation everything else rests on: teaching your body how to feel safe again.

Week 1: Find Your Way Back to Safety

You’ve been in survival mode for so long that you don’t even remember what it’s like to feel truly relaxed, calm, and present. Your system has forgotten how to get back to safety and ease.

This week, you’ll begin to notice what state your nervous system is in, and start rebuilding the ability to feel safe — both inside your body and in the world around you. This is where every trauma-informed approach for people living in long-term stress begins: learning to come back into the body and give it cues of safety. It’s the foundation everything else is built on.

You’ll take your first real steps out of the trauma vortex and into the safe zone — beginning to build the capacity to handle challenges without breaking down.

Week 2: Deepen the Safety Pathway

Safety isn’t built through one tool — it’s built by discovering what your unique nervous system responds to.

This week, we add more body-based tools for cueing safety, and keep strengthening your ability to be in your body — something chronic stress and trauma slowly erode. You’ll also learn to recognize the subtle signs of regulation, so you know the work is landing even when it isn’t dramatic.

You’ll walk away with your own personal safety toolkit — the specific tools that help your body feel safe.

Week 3: Expand Your Safety and Capacity

When you’ve lived in constant stress, your nervous system gets stuck in ON or OFF mode and loses its flexibility. Your tolerance narrows — and we want to widen it so you have more capacity to stay regulated.

This week is about deepening your connection to the calm, grounded place you want to parent from — your Inner Resource, or True Self. It’s the steady, wise part of you that’s been there all along, underneath the survival patterns, and it’s where real regulation comes from. As you connect to it, you have something solid within you to meet and hold your survival states — instead of being swept away by them (and this is who you want to parent from, so we keep strengthening it all course long). You’ll also learn to drop into deeper rest and regeneration — the kind chronic stress quietly takes away — so your body can recover and refill, and meet challenges with real capacity instead of running on empty.

By the end of the week, you’ll feel more anchored in what true calm feels like — not just as an idea, but as a real experience in your body.

Phase 2 · Weeks 4–10

Working With Survival States

With safety on board, we turn to the survival states themselves — meeting the activation, shutdown, freeze, big emotions, and self-criticism that take you over.

Week 4: Calm Your Stress Response Before It Spirals

Your child triggers you so often that your nervous system stays on edge — revved up, anxious, and agitated. What most of us do is hold it in — but that held-in fight-or-flight energy only builds until it explodes as rage, or leaves us burning out in exhaustion and resentment.

This week, you’ll learn to work with that fight/flight energy instead — building the capacity to be with it, and to direct it safely out of the body before it takes over. You’ll also learn to bring safety on board, so you feel safe enough to stay with a challenge even while you’re activated.

You’ll feel more in control of your reactions — able to stop the spiral before it turns into an explosion or collapse.

Week 5: Release Stress That’s Been Trapped in Your Body

We keep working with the danger states and that fight/flight energy — because so much of it never gets to complete. Every time you hold in your anger, fear, or frustration just to function through a meltdown, the stress cycle gets blocked, and that survival energy stays trapped in your body as a heavy stress load.

This week, you’ll learn to safely complete that stress cycle and release the load — both in the moment of a meltdown and afterward, when it got stuck inside. This is essential to keep you from tipping into burnout.

You’ll feel lighter, freer, and more resilient as your nervous system is no longer weighed down by the buildup of stress.

Week 6: Create the Pause — Respond Instead of React

You know that moment where you knew you were supposed to pause… but you couldn’t? That’s not a willpower problem.

This week, you’ll learn two skills that make the pause possible. The first is being with your activation as the curious observer of it, instead of fused with it and swept away. The second is allowing — letting go of the resistance to what’s happening in your child and inside yourself. Together, they help you stay online in your true self and build the tolerance to be with survival states without them taking you over.

You’ll feel more able to catch yourself before you react — and respond from your true self instead of survival mode.

Week 7: Get Out of Shutdown and Lessen Trauma

Sometimes you go numb — no energy, no motivation, no ability to connect. You feel stuck, trapped, and hopeless. This is dorsal vagal shutdown — the state where trauma gets encoded, burnout takes hold, and depression lives.

This week, you’ll learn to recognize shutdown earlier and gently climb out of it, building the pathway back to safety. The more you can return to safety from this state, the less time you’ll spend in it and the less trauma you’ll accumulate.

You’ll feel more able to come back online, reconnect with yourself, and stop burnout from deepening.

Week 8: Break Free from Functional Freeze, Appease, and Fawn

On the outside, you may look calm — you have to function and co-regulate your child — so you tell yourself “I’m fine.” But underneath, your body isn’t: you’re numb to the activation still running, and cut off from your true feelings and needs. This is functional freeze (often with appeasing, fawning, and people-pleasing layered in) — a coping state that feels like regulation but is really survival. And because it isn’t true calm, your child can still sense it and react to it, even when you think you’re regulated.

This week, you’ll learn to tell the difference between this blended survival state and genuine presence — to spot these patterns for what they are, and to shift out of “pretend calm” into the real thing.

You’ll feel more authentic, steady, and connected to yourself, no longer stuck in “pretend calm.”

Week 9: Feel and Process Big Emotions Safely

Anger, fear, sadness, grief, and shame can feel too big to handle — so you push them down, or they spill out in ways you regret.

This week, you’ll learn body-first practices to safely feel and process emotions without being hijacked by them — and, just as importantly, how to reconnect with joy, ease, and aliveness that survival mode buried.

You’ll feel relief and freedom as you realize you can handle your emotions — and expand your capacity to be with your child’s big feelings too.

Week 10: Rewiring Your Inner Voice — Self-Compassion

The parents doing the most for their high-needs child are so often the hardest on themselves. After weeks of meeting your own reactivity and limits up close, this is where shame can be loudest — and where the inner critic gets the last word.

This week, you’ll learn self-compassion as a nervous-system tool (not weakness, and not letting yourself off the hook). You’ll begin talking to yourself differently than the way you may have been raised, and strengthen the self-compassion network in your brain and body — one of the most powerful tools for real repair. This is how an insecure nervous system becomes a more secure one: able to recover from challenges, handle hard things better, and feel better about yourself.

You’ll feel like your own ally instead of your own critic — the felt sense of “I am safe with me.”

Phase 3 · Weeks 11–13

Patterns, Beliefs & the Mind

Now we reach the engine underneath the dysregulation: the deeply wired patterns and beliefs you formed long before you had a child — the ones quietly driving so much of the reactivity.

Week 11: Break Free from Body, Mind, and Behavior Patterns That Keep You Stuck

The patterns that run you outside of parenting — hypervigilance, over-doing, overworking, keeping busy, overthinking, ruminating, self-criticism, perfectionism, and the body-based ones like clenching and bracing — are often what leave you already full, teetering on the edge before your child ever triggers you. Conditioned long ago to keep you safe, lovable, and successful, they get amplified under the pressure of parenting a high-needs child — so you walk in already carrying a stress load that’s ready to tip into an explosion, or into burnout when your child needs even more of you.

This week, you’ll learn to recognize and interrupt your personal patterns, and begin to re-pattern into new states of calm, safety, and choice — so you’re not carrying all of that into every moment with your child.

You’ll feel less controlled by old habits, more free to respond differently in the moment and more energy freed up to better handle your child’s challenges.

Week 12: Rewire Beliefs So You Feel Capable and Enough

Most parents I work with carry painful beliefs like: “I’m not doing enough… I’m failing… I’m damaging my child… I’m not capable.” These beliefs keep the nervous system stuck in shame and negativity.

This week, you’ll learn why your brain defaults to negativity under chronic stress, and how to rewire it with a simple mind-body modality called The Havening Techniques.

You’ll feel more capable, confident, and compassionate with yourself — no longer ruled by the belief that you’re failing.

Week 13: See Your Child in a More Positive Way (Even in the Hard Moments)

When your nervous system is stuck in survival, your child becomes one big cue of danger to your brain. You lose sight of their goodness and glimmers.

This week, you’ll practice shifting your lens — spotting moments of safety and connection even in hard times, using glimmers and Havening to rewire how your brain perceives your child.

You’ll feel clearer, more patient, and more connected — able to see your child with compassion instead of as a threat.

Phase 4 · Weeks 14–18

Integration & Self-Leadership

Finally, we bring it all together into a way of living — so regulation becomes something you lead, in real time, in the hardest moments.

Week 14: Working with Triggers — From Chaos to Predictability

During triggering moments everything feels like chaos — you freeze, react, or feel helpless. But 90% of what gets triggered isn’t even about now; it’s the past firing in the present.

This week, you’ll go deeper into understanding what’s really underneath your triggers — the patterns and loops driving them — so you can finally see them instead of feeling stuck in the chaos of them. You’ll learn how to help yourself feel safer, know exactly what’s happening, and regulate it using the regulation formula we’ve been building all along — and how to repattern the trigger loop itself, so these patterns can actually change and you can stay regulated. For families facing very aggressive or violent behaviors, we’ll also introduce Safety Plans.

You’ll feel more capable and steady — triggers take you over less, and you know what to do.

Week 15: Make Co-Regulation Feel Easier and Less Exhausting

Being present with your child in distress while staying connected to yourself is the hardest thing we do — and it’s exhausting when it comes from “pretend calm” your child can feel.

This week, you’ll learn why co-regulation is so draining, how to bring in choice and what to actually do so it’s not so exhausting, plus the micro-tools for staying present with your child without abandoning yourself.

You’ll feel more able to stay grounded in the storm — and to include yourself in the moment, so you drain less and recover faster.

Week 16: Know Exactly What to Do in the Chaos

When chaos hits, you want to know — predictably — what helps. This week, everything you’ve learned comes together into one simple daily map.

Together we build your personalized Daily Self-Leadership Map — a clear picture of what you’re doing through the day to keep regulation on board, what to do in the middle of a meltdown and while co-regulating your child, and what to focus on rewiring right now — all anchored in the three things your nervous system needs to feel safe (context, choice, and connection). Instead of a day that feels like chaos, you have a day built around regulation, and you always know your next step.

You’ll feel more in control of your day and more capable — the felt shift of self-leadership: leading your nervous system instead of being led by it.

Week 17: Reconnect to Meaning and Purpose

When chaos hits, you want to know — predictably — what helps. This week, everything you’ve learned comes together into one simple daily map.

Together we build your personalized Daily Self-Leadership Map — a clear picture of what you’re doing through the day to keep regulation on board, what to do in the middle of a meltdown and while co-regulating your child, and what to focus on rewiring right now — all anchored in the three things your nervous system needs to feel safe (context, choice, and connection). You’ll feel more in control of your day and more capable — the felt shift of self-leadership: leading your nervous system instead of being led by it.

Week 18: See How Far You’ve Come — Your Roadmap for Resilience

Our final week is recognition, not new content.

You’ll bring everything together to see your growth made visible through the Regulation Rebuild Growth Map, revisit your Week 0 baseline to see what’s shifted, and create your personalized resilience plan — a practical, heart-centered guide for integrating all you’ve learned into daily life.

You’ll leave with grounded confidence and a clear roadmap for continuing to build safety, flexibility, and strength — no matter what life brings next.

What Parents Say Has Changed

Drawn from our most recent cohort’s final survey — in their own words, gathered together.

Before the course, parents described:

  • Bracing and tensing through the day, waiting for the next catastrophe
  • Going numb and shutting down by evening — then feeling like something was wrong with them
  • White-knuckling a "fake calm" their child could see right through
  • Snapping into reactivity, then sinking into guilt and shutdown
  • Feeling alone, overwhelmed, and lost in the complexity of it all
  • Running on empty, with little hope things could feel different

Now, the same parents describe:

  • Catching themselves earlier and rebuilding regulation right in the moment
  • Coming back online — reconnecting with themselves and their kids — much faster
  • A real, felt calm their child can actually settle into
  • Fewer outbursts, and recovering more quickly when they do happen
  • Feeling connected, understood, and no longer alone
  • More hope, more energy, and more capacity to handle challenges

Why Most Parenting and Even Nervous System Programs Don’t Work for Moms Like Us

Most parenting courses focus on teaching you how to think differently about your child. They give you helpful information, reframes and strategies. But when your child melts down, your body reacts before your mind can catch up. Your nervous system takes over. And then you feel like you’re failing because you couldn’t stay calm — like you’re damaging your child.

On the other side, most nervous system focused programs give you somatic tools that are powerful — but they’re designed for people who are already out of the trauma. They assume you live in a safe environment where you can practice regulation without constant activation.

But that’s not our reality.

When you’re parenting a high-needs child, you’re often living in a context that can feel unsafe — chaotic, unpredictable, even violent at times. You don’t get to step away. You don’t get hours of quiet. You need tools that work while you’re still in the storm.

That’s what makes this program different.

We focus on the body first, because your body has to feel safe before your mind can shift. And we practice in real-life contexts — in the chaos, in the meltdowns, in the moments where you can’t leave your child.

No one else is really teaching what it’s like to experience trauma and lack of safety as a parent. This course is different because it was built for exactly that reality.

I don’t teach you how to parent. I help you rebuild the parent underneath the parenting.

Imagine This…

✨Staying present during your child’s biggest storms.
✨Knowing how to help yourself and your child when triggered.
✨Reclaiming your energy, steadiness, and aliveness after the storm.
