Rewire what gets triggered in you, so you can stay steady with your child.
Deep, personal nervous system and trauma reprocessing work for parents of PDA, autistic, ADHD and high-needs kids.

Is this you?
Parenting a hypersensitive, high-needs (Autistic, PDA, ADHD, OCD, ODD) child can leave you feeling reactive, exhausted, and like you’re constantly failing.
- You know the tools, but in the hard moment your body takes over.
- You’re running on empty, on the edge of burnout or deep in it.
- Old patterns from your own childhood keep showing up with your kids.
- Talk therapy has only taken you so far.
My role as your trauma and neuroscience informed coach is to help you rewire what’s getting triggered inside of you, so you can show up with more calm, presence, and resilience, no matter how hard things get.
Meet your coach
Hi, I’m Afshan.
For years, our days held hours of meltdowns, hitting, broken things and calls for help. My son is autistic and PDA, with high anxiety and OCD. I knew so much, and I still couldn’t stay calmer in the hard moments for him.
What finally changed things was learning to work with my own nervous system: the body first, and the meanings underneath. Our meltdowns went from five hours a day to about 30 minutes once a week.
Trained in Internal Family Systems (Level 3), Somatic Experiencing (in progress), Havening, polyvagal-informed practice and EFT, with child development and behaviour training including Gordon Neufeld, Ross Greene, Mona Delahooke and PDA.
The work we do together
We work with the survival patterns you learned to stay safe, lovable, belonging and successful. These patterns get louder with our kids and keep the nervous system in survival and depletion mode.
1
Regulate your nervous system
Track what happens in your body when you feel unsafe, and learn somatic and mind-based practices so you know what to do to feel regulated with ongoing challenges.
2
Reprocess what’s underneath
Connect today’s triggers to past unresolved experiences, release those imprints so they no longer overwhelm you, and find more choice in how you respond to your child.
3
Rewire old beliefs
Gently uncover beliefs like “I’m failing as a mother” or “I should have more control of my child,” and wire in new felt-sense experiences of self-compassion, love and trust.
Modalities we draw on
This is not talk therapy. We work with both body and mind to re-pattern survival responses for lasting change.

What a session looks like
Up to 90 minutes on Zoom, weekly or every two weeks.
Early on, we build your foundation: awareness of your state, ways to create safety predictably, and the capacity to do deeper work.
Then we go deeper. A typical session focuses on one trigger, using somatic regulating practices, parts work and trauma reprocessing to gently rewire what’s getting activated.
Every session looks a little different, because I choose the approach based on what you need that day.
Each session closes with integration: what shifted, and simple practices to carry into your week.
Help with your child too
From a regulated place, we look at what may help your child
Most of our work is with your nervous system. From that steadier place, we can also look at what you might try with your child: what to say, what to let go of, and how to handle the situations that keep coming up.
I draw on years of training with Ross Greene, Mona Delahooke, Gordon Neufeld, Stuart Shanker’s Self-Reg, Studio 3’s low arousal approach, PDA training and SPACE for parents, along with my own life as the parent of a PDA, autistic son with OCD. Experience with PDA and OCD together is rare, and it shapes how I support you.
Neurodivergent parents welcome
If you’re ADHD or autistic yourself
I’ve worked with many neurodivergent parents, including parents who are ADHD and autistic. We adapt the practices to how your nervous system works, including your sensory needs, your energy and the pace that feels right for you.
The course first, or 1:1?
I recommend most parents begin with The Regulation Rebuild. When you come to 1:1 with the foundation already in place, our sessions can focus on deeper trauma reprocessing and the specific places you feel stuck.
If you come straight to 1:1, we build that foundation in our sessions, so the work may take longer.

Tracked together
Your Personal Resiliency Map
One living document we fill in together and come back to as we go, so you can see what’s shifting:
- Your focus goals and where you’re starting from
- Your nervous system state profile
- Your triggers and glimmers
- Your regulating resources and practice plan
- Growth check-ins at the start, 3 and 6 months
Why it matters
Most sessions end when the hour ends, and you’re left with whatever you remember. Your map holds everything we discover in one place:
- See your own progress. You rate where you are at the start, at 3 months and at 6 months, so on the hard days you can look back and see how far you’ve come.
- Know what to do when you’re triggered. Your triggers, your glimmers and the tools that work for your body, written down for the moments your thinking brain goes offline.
- Nothing gets lost between sessions. What shifted and what to practice this week are saved, so you’re never starting over.
- It stays yours. After we finish, it becomes your personal guide for the long run.
Between sessions
Your practice library
Short guided practices I assign as you’re ready, from noticing your state to working with parts, so you can practice between sessions and keep using them after we finish. Lifetime access, with printable infographics.
These are practices to support our sessions. The full teaching, sequence and community live in The Regulation Rebuild.
What parents say
“Before coaching with Afshan, I was struggling with rage, giving looks of disapproval, lack of confidence and worthiness. In 6 sessions, Afshan helped me to make a lot of changes in my thought processes, beliefs and action changes too. I am a calmer parent, a more aware person and in touch with my consciousness.”
Katerina
“After Coaching With Afshan, I have very specific tools that I can use to bring my nervous system down. She also offered me many insights and changes in perspective, which I found immensely valuable. I truly feel like a more capable mother after working with Afshan.”
Victoria
“After working with Afshan I can now better identify signs of my own dysregulation. This has helped me parent with less explosions… I feel like I made HUGE progress throughout my time with Afshan. Her teachings are still with me everyday.”
Kate
“Before coaching with Afshan I was in deep burnout and desperation from negative cycles of reactivity within my family (neurodivergent)… After coaching with Afshan, I have eons more understanding of myself — my nervous system patterns, why the things trigger me that do, and how to help myself in those moments.”

This is for you if
- You want to work on your own nervous system, not only your child’s behavior
- You’re ready for deeper, personal work at your own pace
- You can commit to 12 sessions and small practices in between
- You’d also like help thinking through what to try with your child
This may not be the right fit if
- You’re looking for strategies to fix or control your child
- You want a quick hack for heated moments instead of lasting change
- You’re in crisis or need urgent mental health care right now
Investment
This work isn’t a quick fix. Most parents come to me on the edge of burnout or deep in it, which is why coaching starts with a 12-session package. Many parents continue beyond it.

Occasional sessions
$375 per session, when space opens
For parents who already have a strong foundation, including the many therapists and psychologists I’ve worked with, and want a session here and there with someone who gets it. Sessions are up to 90 minutes. Choose “occasional sessions” on the waitlist application, and I’ll reach out when a spot opens on my calendar.
Each occasional session includes one follow-up email. Occasional sessions don’t include access to the practice library platform or ongoing email support. Those come with the 12-session package only.
Need a different payment plan? Just ask. We can set one up spread over as long as 12 months.
Sessions are used within 12 months of purchase.
How to start: the step-by-step process
Because of the depth of this work, I only take a few new clients at a time, and there is a long waitlist. Spots are offered in the order applications are received. I’m also growing a small team of coaches soon, which may give you the option to start sooner.
1. Review the investment and what’s included above.
2. Fill out the waitlist application. It takes about 5 minutes. Tell me which option you’re interested in (the 12-session package over 3, 6 or 12 months, or occasional sessions) and whether you’d be open to working with a coach on my team. Your place in line is held by the date you apply.
3. When a spot opens, I’ll email you to book a free 30-minute consult call, so we can make sure we’re a good fit.
4. If it feels right for both of us, you choose weekly or every two weeks and your payment option, and we agree on your start date and session time.
5. We begin. You get access to your practice library and your Personal Resiliency Map, and we start our first session.
